FURIOUS Little Mix fans have rounded on Mel C and called her a "hypocrite" after she stripped off on Instagram.

The former Spice Girl had previously called out The X Factor stars for being “too sexy” but now she’s posted a sultry photograph, she’s the one being criticised.

Mel posted the picture of herself on Tuesday and captioned the topless snap: “Cheeky little cover shoot tomorrow. Better get my work pants ready!”

The comments on her page were quickly filled with disgruntled Little Mix fans however who were quick to call her out.

One wrote: “Didn’t you say in an interview on The Pool a few weeks back that you don’t know why women get their kit off in the name of ‘girl power’ and you couldn’t get your ‘bits and bobs out in public’ as you wouldn’t find it ’empowering’. Hypocritical much?’”

Another commented: “Pretty sure you were quick to criticize little mix on their ‘provocative’ outfits and sexualisation and here you are with nothing but your pants on?? Pot, Kettle?”

The interview to which fans were referring was made to the Sunday People by the mum-of-one in October.

Although Mel did say she loved the band she also made comments about their outfits on stage.

She said: “They are getting more provocative. To me, they were kind of the closest thing to the Spice Girls we’ve seen.

“They are all gorgeous and great singers. But they weren’t sexy and it’s got more and more that way. I love them – but I just say, ‘Stay you’.”

Mel went on to say she isn’t comfortable with her seven-year-old daughter Scarlett watching the band’s music videos.

Mel explained: “She [Scarlett] is a massive Little Mix fan but I’ve started to be more sparing in what I show her.

“I don’t let her watch videos by artists that aren’t appropriate for her. That makes me a bit sad.”

The singer went on: “All young women want to look sexy and hot so I understand it’s hard. But I think it’s such a shame.

“We live in a narcissistic age – it’s 100 per cent worse than when I was in the Spice Girls.

“It was a more innocent time, although we were criticised for wearing crop tops.”
